  Appalling service. Lied blatantly about the car supplied. Desk staff were rude. Asked to speak to manager. Manager was appallingly rude. No apology or explanation from anyone, just stonewalling and a "this is how it is, take it or leave it" attitude. Renting cars isn't rocket science folks. Some people seem to think working in a car rental shopfront makes them superior to us regular folk. Don't go here, ever.

  THIEVES. If you care about your life, safety, money and sanity, DO NOT EVER rent from Thrifty! I rented a Mercedes C200 for a week in Brisbane. Mind you, it costed about $960 including a deposit which hasn't been refunded. At first, all was well - too well in fact since the employee handed the car too early to me. I should've known there was something shady going on. Two hours after driving on the highway, the car had 0 tyre pressure. Obviously they hadn't checked the car thoroughly before handing it to me. I had to call Roadside Assistance and they CHARGED me $165+ just for that! I then realized there was NO SPARE TYRE! HOW IS THAT SAFE? WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I WAS STRANDED WITH NO SIGNAL? That's so dangerous! Then after hours of waiting, they told me that I could drive 100 km back all the way to Brisbane Airport to get a new car with a FLAT TYRE. Not only is this dangerous, but if the car gets damaged, they would've charged me thousands more! So I had to call a tow truck myself, which then costed $530 which they did not even consider to refund. Even the tow truck driver specifically said to claim it from them. Instead of refunding us, they charged us even more for a call-out fee and the flat tyre itself which wasn't even our fault. The tyre costed $630 which they charged from my card without even telling me until I called! There are so many hidden costs and all they care about is draining your bank account - not your comfort or SAFETY. Even the customer service was bogus - they laughed at us when we asked for Roadside Assistance and told us that we should've took the insurance when it does not even cover the tires and windows! When we reached the airport, they did not attend to us politely. There was so much sarcasm and rudeness - the entire staff seemed like they memorized a script to scam customers. Do not ever rent from this company, unless you want your money stolen! NEVER AGAIN.

  Hired a Mercedes from here,the car was absolutely fantastic to drive however we found out after we returned the car that there is a cheat sheet that helps you familiarise yourself with the controls which would have help us in the start bigtime and off course made it safer for us and the car. We ensured we worked everything out first before we drove of the lot. The manual in the glovebox was a life saver.

  The staff that served me was friendly and patiently explained everything I need to know on renting the vehicle before I took the keys. She was also helpful in noting down minor damages on the car before I collect the car and drove off. Returning of the vehicle was also easy, and the deposit was returned to me within 2 working days.
